Forest Lawn Memorial Park
It’s a privately owned cemetery, located in Glendale, California. It was established in 1906 by a group of entrepreneurs of San Francisco. Later, in 1917, the management was taken over by Dr. Hubert Eaton, who was the firm believer that the life is more blissful after death. Thus, they renovated the whole cemetery into a memorial park, surrounded by the optimistic and jovial atmosphere. However, the value of the most expensive burial ground in this park is $825,000.
The memorial park is adorned with beautiful fountains, glorious statues, and wide variety of plants. Even they named and categorised the burial sections according to the deceased person’s age like, Eventide, Graceland, Slumberland, Sweet Memories, Borderland, Inspiration Slope, Dawn of Tomorrow, Babyland and Vesperland are some of the reminiscent names, given to most of its burial section.
In 2009, the cemetery came into limelight when pop-singer Michael Jackson was buried there. The other notable burials of this memorial park are Fred Quimby (producer), Walt Disney, Anita Louise Adler (actress), Gene Austin (singer), Joe Barbara, Errol Flynn, Larry Fine, Dorothy Dandridge Zara Cully (actress), and Ben Bard (actor).
